The SOCA v3.0 database, a social impact add-on to the ecoinvent v3.10 database, is now available. Ecoinvent already contains data to calculate environmental impacts and information on costs, which can be used in life cycle costing (LCC). However, it has lacked information on social impacts, which is where the SOCA database fills the gap. This ecoinvent add-on not only provides the existing environmental and economic data but also incorporates social information. With this add-on, users can calculate the social impact per process/dataset in ecoinvent.

What’s New?

SOCA v3.0 is based on ecoinvent v3.10 and PSILCA v3.1.1, featuring refined mapping processes, enhanced sectoral coverage, and improved location-specific mappings. This database enables users to conduct a complete life cycle sustainability assessment. SOCA is available as an extension for all three system models of ecoinvent—cut-off, consequential, and APOS.
