A range of EN15804-compliant Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) prepared from LCA conducted in the openLCA software have recently been successfully verified and published in the BRE (UK Building Research) EPD Programme for construction products.
The EPDs, covering insulation products manufactured in the UK, were prepared by Chris Foster, of EuGeos Limited. Chris, who has nearly 20 years’ experience in LCA using different software tools, remarks that:
The power and flexibility of the openLCA framework is illustrated in this exercise, for example in its adaptability to allow the full range of different indicators required by EN 15804 to be calculated.
