Project Organisation
The project consists of several "entities":
- The core development team at GreenDeltaTC
- External contributors
- Funding Consortium
- Testing / Evaluating Community
Please see the section "Community" for a list of involved companies and institutions.
Funding Consortium members receive the software under the Mozilla Public License (MPL 1.1), which allows them to give the software, also in modified form, away together with other software, e.g. their proprietary sustainability assessment software, to their clients. This is explained more in detail in the license concept section. We seek to get funding members involved early in the project, and, if they wish so, they will receive alpha and beta versions for testing and feedback purposes.
Funding Consortium members will also receive future modules and updates of the software under the same license, for the next 2 years after project completion, at least for four modules.
Evaluation members receive early versions of the sourcecode, and commit to testing these early versions, or also future versions, for possible bugs or any other improvement suggestions.
Contributing members and institutions commit to contribute; while the core application, the life cycle calculation, and the two initial modules are implemented at GreenDeltaTC, there are many other parts of the software where contributions are highly welcome and needed. Please talk to us if you feel inclined to contribute; we will coordinate contributions as efficient as possible. Contributers will be acknowledged in the source code and on the web site.
Funding Consortium members get early access to the source code and to the application, via a protected webspace at openlca. Final releases of the software will be released and hosted at our sourceforge site, http://sourceforge.net/projects/openlca.
